Washington D.C. In the month of May, the NIA team worked hard to prepare for the publication of "Catalyzing Commitments of Advanced Nuclear Energy Projects," by Steve Greene.
The team attended NEI's Nuclear Energy Policy Forum and had an Op-ed published in the National Interest on uranium enrichment.
May was an exciting month for nuclear energy with Congress passing a Russian Uranium Import ban which unlocked $2.7B to expand US nuclear fuel productions.

Washington D.C. In April, NIA Executive Director Judi Greenwald and Research Director Patrick White both had speaking engagements. Additionally in this addition of the Nuclear Innovation Newsletter we looked forward at the multiple upcoming speaking engagements for NIA staff.
This month we highlighted our new report "The Nuclear Innovation Bootcamp Impact Report 2016-2024."
Finally, we highlighted many accomplishments by NIB alums and celebrated Earth Day!

Washington D.C. In March, NIA had the opportunity to attend the NRC's annual Regulatory Information Conference. Following day two of said conference the team also attended a Women in Nuclear Reception.
This month NIA also welcomed two new full time team members, Brittany Lutz as Policy Program Manager and Zach Koshgarian as Analyst.
NIA released a letter in support of President Bidens nomination of Christopher Hanson to be a member and chair of the NRC and two statements on the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s vote on the draft proposed rule for 10 CFR Part 53 and the passage of the FY 2024 appropriations package.

Washington D.C. In February NIA staff participated in 3 speaking engagements. Additionally, NIA released a statement in response to the successful Senate vote on the supplemental appropriations package and an op-ed alongside the Good Energy Collective and ClearPath.
The DC-based NIA team took a tour of the White House West Wing and the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
The deadline to apply for NIB2024 was extended by two weeks.
